Kitchen Love: February 2022

Greetings from windy London. As I am writing this newsletter we are hearing the wind howling outside. Don't worry I am warm and cosy in my kitchen.

What's been happening my kitchen?
This month I decided to create a new recipe for Valentines Day. I recreated another pretty Persian Love cake, this time in a small loaf tin. A lighter version of my other Persian Love Cakes. I included finely chopped pistachios inside instead of ground almonds. Then I topped the cake off with a simple, light not too sweet buttercream, then decorated the cake with edible rose petals, more chopped pistachios and my new rose pearl sugar for an added pop of colour and crunch. Check out my recipe below.

The top picture features another new recipe, Swedish Almond Cake, also known as Toscakaka. A simple moist, buttery sponge cake with a crunchy caramel top. A delicious cake served on its own and even better warm out of the oven with vanilla ice cream. Click the image below for the full recipe.
